Reusable note card kits

Seiche creates reusable note card kits that encourage tangible communication.

Seiche note cards are generously sized at 5” x 7” (12.7 cm x 17.8 cm) and are blank inside, allowing for expressive communication longer than a tweet.

Each card kit contains:

  • One blank 5” x 7” card (12.7 cm x 17.8 cm)
  • Two removable note papers (one notepaper is tacked in place)
  • Two A7 envelopes, to encourage the recipient to reuse the card before recycling

Seiche cards are designed and printed in Canada in small runs using sustainable materials. We use environmentally friendly inks and biodegradable packaging.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Seiche co-founder Karen has an Italian mother Albina and had a very Italian grandmother Rose who recycled everything - paper, aluminum foil, elastics, you name it.

Plastic containers - those bought for CoolWhip or Ricotta cheese (note the Italian food theme here) were recycled as an early form of Tupperware containers for storing leftovers.

Albina and Rose’s frugality and enthusiasm for recycling extended to their frequent written communication. Growing up in Boston, Karen - and her cousins and other relatives - received birthday, holiday or graduation cards that included an inserted piece of paper with a handwritten note, leaving the original card so that it could be reused and passed on.

Karen has adopted the practice of recycling greeting cards, and has been doing so for years - hence the origin of Seiche.

How to (re)use Seiche cards

To reuse the card:

  1. Write your note on one of the included notepaper inserts
  2. Insert the card and your written message into the envelope
  3. Include extra notepaper and envelope for the recipient to reuse the card
  4. Mail the card to your recipient. You can include the Seriche packaging insert to pass on the directions for use to your recipient
